The Brief
We were asked by a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association to build her campaign, logo, website, print materials, and over see the creative and strategy for her social media for her run for President-Elect of the TYLA. She asked that the colors and graphics really represent her and the things she loves, like Texas, the color pink, and the law.
The Process
The logo was the first asset that needed to be created as everything else would grow from the decisions made for that. For the logo design we looked at previous President-Elect's materials and other political candidates from various levels for guidance and inspiration. We also researched symbols for Texas and the law. We looked at several color palettes that would incorporate red, navy, and pink.
Once we had all the elements approved by the client we began working on the website and print materials simultaneously. We applied the design language from the logo to inform the elements used on her site.

For her social media presence we chose to go with @Vote4Cali for all handles and her primary channels were Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
The Solution
The logo incorporated two fonts, one a script font to show the fun side of the candidate and a san serif for her name and title. We used light blues, navy, and red for the main logo, however there were various color iterations including pinks and tans. We used the state of Texas as a background symbol as well as a star to represent the law and the state of Texas again.
After researching other political websites as well as law websites we chose a layout that highlighted all the information about her campaign in defined sections on one page so that it could be taken in one section at a time or scrolled through all at once. We incorporated the stars and colors from all the logo iterations to populate the site. Videos were added after launch to help add a more dynamic feel to site.

We used a combination of video and static image galleries to show the progress of her campaign and for showing her qualifications and stances on the issues. We also encouraged her to post spontaneously using Reels on Instagram at events or special stops when she felt it was appropriate so that her social channels had some life to them.
